Extra Writing

Emily has been busy at home writing another holiday story about her trip to Christchurch on a plane. It was Emily's first time travelling on a plane and she wrote a very descriptive story. SUPER, FLYING GIRL EMILY!

Extra Measuring

In maths we have been learning about length. We have been practising measuring lines in centimetres. Katrina has been putting in some extra practise at home. Her sister Megan drew some lines for Katrina to measure using a ruler. Katrina is becoming very accurate at measuring in centimetres. WELL DONE KATRINA!
Trey, Zak, Hugh, Kayleigh, Jessica and Evie have also been practising some measuring using a cm ruler. Well Done Guys!

Dedication Shown By Angel

Angel spent the first day back at school wanting to finish her holiday story. She wrote during playtime and some of lunchtime. She even did some at home. Her story was nearly 5 pages long! Great dedication Angel!

Making Patterns

Zak and Trey have been busy making patterns. First you fold a piece of paper and cut out some shapes. When you open it out you have created a magical pattern. You can then stick this onto a different, coloured piece of paper. Wow Wee!

AbraCad-a-bury-a

Madi went to the Cadbury Magic Show in the holidays. Can you spot her in the newspaper photo?

Welcome back to Term 3

Jessica has written a story at home and would like to share it with you.

In the holidays Nana looked out of the window and saw a Tui in the bluegum tree, another Tui came down to join it. Thomas and I came through to watch them. The Tui is bigger than a Bellbird. It is black with shiny green feathers. Under its beak looked like a little ball of wool.

He nibbles your fingers and toes.
He makes your fingers and toes freeze.
He freezes the pond and the fields.
He makes the cars slide on the road.
BY JASON

Jack Frost leaves his ice magic everywhere.
I slip and slap on my feet.
I open the door.
He is waiting there to pick and nip.
When I go outside my pond is frozen.
We get to go ice skating.
It is chilly and cold.
We get colds.
BY MIKA

Jack Frost leaves snow trails along the ground.
When the sun comes up he hides in the bushes.
He frosts the ponds.
He makes people fall down onto the ground.
He is sparkling.
BY WILL

Jack Frost is about being cold and frozen.
The sewer tank it was slippery.
I nearly fell over.
Icicles look like whipped cream.
We have to keep our fluffy blanket wrapped around us.

Sometimes you can be very cold.
You have to wear gloves.

Look out! Jack Frost can make you slip.
You can get a bleeding face Ouch!

When the sun comes out he vanishes.
When he leaves black ice people can die.

He is chilly and cold.
He has a snow gun to make ice.
